The Triune Being You Are
The Triune Being You Are
The number three stands for that which is solid, real, substantial, complete and entire. All things that are complete are stamped with the number three. All throughout Scripture we see the number three, which is Divine and marks completeness and perfection.
It’s been said that the Trinity cannot be explained. Yes it can. Simply put: spirit, soul and body; we are made in the Image of God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen 1:26). When you look in the mirror you see one person. Yet you are a three-dimensional being in one. (1 Thes 5:23; Heb 4:12; 3 John 2)
Just as Jesus is the mediator between us and Father, so is our soul mediating between our body and spirit.
There is no way that we can reach Father without Jesus. He is the only Way (John 14:6). There is no way our body can reach and line up with our spirit without the soul.
The soul — mind, will, and emotions — is the mediator. It makes daily decisions between the good and bad, truth and deception, self-control and lack thereof.
I encourage you to read the Book of James.
The Holy Spirit is the physical manifest presence of both Father and Son flowing as One (John 10:30; 14:9). Our body is the physical manifest presence of both spirit and soul. We should ask ourselves, “What am I ‘presence-ing/ manifesting?’”
Why Christians Are Double-Minded
We should understand the process of spiritual maturity. The soul — mind, will and emotions — must be transformed.
The spirit of mankind is automatically saved, raised up and seated in heaven with Christ.
“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus...” (Eph 2:1–6)
The soul of mankind is being transformed as the follower of Christ presses in.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Rom 12:2)
The body of mankind is a tent. It's the physical manifest presence of our spirit and soul.
“Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me.” (2 Pet 1:13–14)
This is why so many are double minded, unstable in their ways and tossed to and fro. Their soul is still being transformed. Their spirit man lives one way while their soul remains unprocessed or is in the midst of being processed.
“For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:7–8)
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting...” (Eph 4:11–14)
Spiritual babes require the milk of the Word so they can properly mature. (1 Pet 2:2) A newborn child of God cannot eat nor digest the meat of God's Word. (Heb 5:12–14) Like natural babies, a child of God is fragile. They require patience, nurturing and lots of attention. Even so, in most cases we are dealing with adults (physically speaking). They are spiritual babes in a natural setting. If one does not understand the trinity of man, they will not understand the process of Christianity.
Even though our spirit is automatically saved when we receive Christ as Lord and Savior, there is a much deeper experience than a handshake with God. His desire is for us to move from the Outer Court experience into the Holy Place where we learn who He is and who He is not, as well as who we are and who we are not. It’s the Outer Court where we should begin to hear and learn about process and maturity — forsaking the carnal life, that old man nature. (Col 3:9–10; 2 Cor 5:17)
We Are Not Helpless!
A double-minded person is twin-souled, unstable in all of their ways (James 1:2–8). They talk one thing and walk another. What we manifest in the physical within both private and public settings is the result of our soul. There is no magic wand here, but there is one out of the nine attributes of the ‘Fruit of the Spirit’ called Self-Control. (Gal 5:22–23)
Just as we are required to mature from childhood onto adulthood, so it is in the spiritual.
Self-Control is a manifestation of the Fruit of the Spirit that a majority of God's people need to work on. The devil cannot make us do anything that is not allowed. And, need I say this? Most is not of the devil, but purely an idle mind.
Again, our soul — mind, will and emotions — is the mediator between our spirit and body. Our physical cannot manifest wholeness into our atmosphere unless our soul is in line with our spirit that is automatically aligned with God.
Holy Spirit lives within all who have confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He can only work in a Christian's life to the extent they yield to the things of the Spirit.
Somebody has to get this! If you're a son or daughter of God, you are not helpless!
Some of you were born into a Christian home and are still a spiritual child feeding on milk, as Apostle Paul wrote: “Ever learning, but not coming into the experience of it.” (2 Tim 3:7; Heb 5:12) Let’s get real here. It is time to believe and walk in the greater dimensions of God!
